Put on by Cricket Wellington with support from ChangeMakers, this day was to bring people of all cultures together to experience cricket and the diverse foods that our ethnic communities bring to this country. We have some very seasoned cricket players amongst our former refugee communities, with the Sri Lankan Tamil Community and the Ahmadiyya Community both being very keen cricket players.
What a fantastic day. There were so many children and youth that got to have a go at cricket, and the attendees were very diverse. Kiwis that aren’t from the communities we work alongside were very keen to play together and to try the foods, henna, and face painting.
A huge shout-out of appreciation to Cricket Wellington for hosting a fabulous day.
